Ceftriaxone belongs to a group of antibiotics. It is used to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria. Ceftriaxone is indicated for the treatment of the infections caused by susceptible organisms, such as lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media. Skin and skin structure infections, urinary tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhea, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial septicemia, bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections and meningitis.
