Chemical properties: light yellow green lustrous crystalline powder. The melting point of 167-172 Deg. C, soluble in acetone, ethyl ether, insoluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, insoluble in water. Tasteless, a stimulating smell. In the air easily absorb moisture.
Use: tolfenamic acid is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, there is swelling, antipyretic, analgesic effect, for the treatment of rheumatoid and rheumatic arthritis. The products are intermediates of drugs chlorpromazine.
