Acid yellow 36, also called metanil yellow, is orange to yellow powder. It is soluble in water and alcohol, moderately soluble in benzene and ether, and slightly soluble in acetone. And it is mainly used in the soap coloration and biological dyeing. Besides, it is used in the dyeing of fibers, silk, wool and nylon.
